ZaciSa’s Last Stand Review (Wii U eShop)

ZaciSa’s Last Stand is a unique space tower defense game. It’s available for only $2.99 on the Wii U eShop containing 6 unique maps and more said to come in free future patches by it’s developer, ZeNfA Productions.

ZaciSa's Units

ZaciSa’s Last Stand’s addicting gameplay draws the player in and makes them want to keep playing to progress farther and earn a higher score. In the game you’re provided base(s) which you want to protect using units. Assign different types of units to specific points on the map using the gamepad. The first couple waves start off slow then enemies will start coming in relentlessly which may be just a little too fast for some even on easy mode.  As enemies come within range of your units, which are represented by different color circles, they will shoot at enemies earning you a higher score and more $$$.  Surprisingly, the default setting for it is hard mode while an easier alternative is provided which allows you to take less hits from enemies before you lose and make more income. An endless mode is also included which doesn’t have any levels and enemies don’t stop coming in. It’s really fulfilling when you can build and hold your defense for a good amount of time.

ZaciSa's color map

On the gamepad you can add units on the gray dots by clicking on them and choosing a unit to add costing you $$$ in your bank. Allocated units consist of the Sentry, Bomber, Cloud, and Helper all with their respective traits and colors. Another unit that can be placed out is the Drone but what’s different about this one is that it can fly around your base nearing enemies to attack them. You can purchase a shied to protect give yourself an edge and not lose any health until the shield takes enough hits. Specials are bonus you’re randomly provided a certain amount of in a game and consist of a twice as much $$$, score multiplier, more health, and an atomic bomb that destroys all enemies on the map.

ZaciSa's gravity field

This game feels a lot like an old arcade game because it makes you want to achieve the best highest score possible. It’s a simple addictive space game with a tower defense twist. It’s worth its affordable price and provides enough fun to pick up and keep you occupied for a little while. Every stage contains a catchy repetitive tune with lots of beats. Plus you can here lasers every time your units fire. The maps have pastel or chalk design to them which makes it more interesting than your average pitch black background that most older space shooters had, and enemies leave behind a particle effect once you destroy them. If you like tower defense, classic space games, or you’re just looking for something fun to play that won’t cost you too much money, ZaciSa’s Last Stand is a game worth trying that I’d give a 9/10!
