HomeNewsXenoblade Chronicles 3D Launches in NA on April 10th, Gains Amiibo Support Alex Irish February 6, 2015 News Aside from the brand-new Xenoblade Chronicles X coming to Wii U, Nintendo is making sure the world gets the chance to play its predecessor on New 3DS. The 2012 Wii release Xenoblade Chronicles is getting a New 3DS port, and a North American release date has been revealed for April 10th. In addition, the title has been revealed to have surprise amiibo and StreetPass functionality. Using StreetPass in Xenoblade Chronicles 3D helps to unlock in-game tokens, which in turn unlock music and character models, according to Nintendo of Europe’s Twitter account. The inclusion of amiibo support functions to the same end. The Shulk amiibo can connect to Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for even more in-game medals. Given that Shulk is a GameStop-exclusive in North America, there is an unfortunate chance that most people will miss out on this functionality (given doubly because of the continued amiibo scarcity). Remember that Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is a New Nintendo 3DS-exclusive. Do these new features entice you further to buy a New 3DS for the extra value of tokens for unlocks in this classic Wii RPG?
