Wii U Version of Super Smash Bros. To Support Gamecube Controllers

Nintendo has announced that the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. will be playable with the famed Gamecube Controller through the use of its new, licensed Gamecube Controller Adapter for the Wii U. This is big news because the Gamecube controller is a fan favorite for professional Smash players and regular Smash fans alike!

The accessory will plug in to your Wii U via the two USB ports on the front of the system, from there you will be able to plug in the up four Gamecube controllers!

A small problem seems to occur when you realise that not everyone who wants to play with a Gamecube controller will own a Gamecube controller, a solution may be for Nintendo to start reproducing the controller, and we may have some evidence of that via the pictures above.

The hint that  Nintendo is reproducing Gamecube Controllers is the fact that the controller pictured above sports the official Smash Bros. logo instead of the Gamecube logo, and if they were to reproduce the Gamecube controller, it would not be very smart to have it branded for a ten year old system, so the picture above shows an entirely new controller design that we have never seen before.
