HomeNewsWii U Tech Demo Project Giant Robot Finally Cancelled Alex Irish February 2, 2017 News Nintendo has formally cancelled Giant Project Robot for Wii U. The tech demo originally introduced at E3 2014 has spent year after year on the release schedule as a ‘TBD’ release, but never went beyond tech demo form. The company issued a statement to Polygon, explaining, “we made this decision after considering our overall product and development strategy.” Project Giant Robot was demonstrated alongside what became Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard at E3 2014, as part of a movement to reinforce support of the Wii U GamePad. All three projects were the brainchild of Creative Fellow Shigeru Miyamoto. Only Star Fox and Project Guard saw release last year, leaving Giant Robot in the dust. Speaking of other ‘TBD’ releases, Nintendo of Europe still has Dr Kawashima’s Devilish Brain Training: Can You Stay Focused? on the release calender for 3DS. The brain teaser originally launched in Japan in 2012 and in North America the following year. Share this post: No related posts.
