HomeGeneralWii U Gamepad In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Allegedly Displays A Blank Screen Jelani Thompson January 28, 2014 General, News According to a writer on Nintendo World Report, the Wii U Gamepad in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze isn’t utilized when playing on the television. In fact, it just displays a blank screen. Here’s what the writer had to say: I do have to bring up is how the Wii U GamePad is used. If you are playing on the television, the touchscreen will have nothing displayed on it and it stays blank the entire time. There are no options to quickly select levels or see simple information displayed. If you are going for off-TV play, it is the same deal as nothing will be displayed on the television. It is not the worst thing ever, but it made me want to use the GamePad less and that can’t be what Nintendo and Retro Studios wanted. Dang. As mentioned, less use of the Wii U gamepad can’t be what Nintendo wants in order to improve the company’s financial situation. Hopefully a developer at one of the company’s will see the post and decide to make a better use of it because honestly Nintendo, you’re not doing a lot to help yourself right now.
