HomeNewsWal-Mart May Have Super-Limited Quantities of Gold Mario Amiibo Alex Irish March 10, 2015 News, amiibo We already know how scarce the upcoming Gold Mario amiibo is going to be, based on pre-orders going faster than lightning. The figure, launching alongside Mario Party 10 on March 20th, will also be sold in Wal-Mart stores across North America. If a finding by reddit is any indication, that amiibo may be just as hard to find on store shelves. A local Wal-Mart was spotted to have a notice in their amiibo section regarding Gold Mario’s limited quantity. The most important information you need to know reads (emphasis added), “Quantities are limited, limit ONE per customer. Product sold at a first come, first serve basis.” And more concerning, “We are only expecting 4-6 figures. We apologize for the inconvenience, but there is nothing we can do.” Sadly, this is nothing new for the amiibo line. North American fans know too well the pain of trying to procure retail-exclusives like Meta Knight, Rosalina, Lucario, and Shulk. Add Gold Mario to the list. Perhaps trying to cool the flames of panic, Nintendo took to Twitter to announce that the Mario’s online pre-orders were “a small part of the story”, seemingly hinting that it would be available in healthy numbers in-store. This notice strongly proves that this is not the case. This is the reality we live in with amiibo: here today, gone tomorrow. Just be prepared for the blood spilled and riots in the streets come March 20th, all because Nintendo cannot/will not produce enough of a desired product.
