HomeNewsTwitch Livestream Service Could be Headed to the 3DS Soon Jelani Thompson July 2, 2014 News In a recent interview, Kevin Lin of Twitch stated that the company would like to bring the popular livestreaming service to the Nintendo 3DS in the near future. Lin mentioned that if the app was created, however, it would be for viewing purposes only, as the Nintendo 3DS CPU wouldn’t be capable of broadcasting off the device. Lin stated that Twitch has just recently moved to mobile devices, and may be headed to the PS Vita alongside its release on the Nintendo 3DS. “On mobile we just released our first in-game integration, with Asphalt 8 from Gameloft. For now, we’re going to be doing that game by game. Handhelds. That’s something we’d love to do. On handhelds it’s more of a server/CPU concern, but we definitely want to do it. We want to build viewing apps, that’s much less CPU intensive than broadcasting.” More information should be revealed in the not-too-distant future, but what do you think?
