HomeNewsTaiko no Tatsujin Tokumori Includes Pokémon OR/AS DLC Trace Wysaske December 31, 2014 News Y’know, we don’t talk about Taiko enough on this site, so let’s usher in the almost new year with some news about everyone’s favorite percussion-based Japanese rhythm game, shall we? Taiko no Tatsujin: Tokumori! for Wii U is getting a neat Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire medley featuring some familiar tunes from Gen III. Have a listen for yourself: This would’t be the first time Pokémon music has shown up in a Taiko installment, as there have been numbers from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl as well as last year’s Pokémon X and Y to name just a few. It’s a strange crossover, sure, but it’s Taiko, so what’s not to love? There hasn’t been a localized Taiko game in the west since the PS2’s Taiko: Drum Master, but good ol’ Don and Katsu have been known to show up in arcade versions of Mario Kart from time to time, and that’s something. No word if Namco will bring Taiko no Tatsujin: Tokumori! to the west (unlikely), but at least it’s fun to observe the series from afar, I guess.
