Super Mario Bros. and Tetris Inducted in Video Game Hall of Fame

The votes are in, and the first wave of inductees have been selected for the first Video Game Hall of Fame, per the National Museum of Play. The selection includes a couple of seminal Nintendo classics, including:

  • Pong (1972)
  • Pac Man (1980)
  • Super Mario Bros. (1985)
  • Tetris (1989 Game Boy version)
  • Doom (1993)
  • World of Warcraft (2004)

These six winners were chosen from a selection of 15 games, as voted back in April. Several additional Nintendo games, including Pocket Monsters Red and Green, were part of that panel, but didn’t make the final cut.

Congrats to all the winners in the meantime. The selection of nominees has already begun for next year, so visit the official site for more details.
