HomeNewsSquare Enix Clarifies Dragon Quest XI NX Statement Alex Irish August 4, 2015 News During last week’s announcement of Dragon Quest XI, Square Enix said they were bringing the game to Nintendo’s upcoming NX in addition to the PS4 and 3DS. Since then however, they have backpedaled time and again on the status of the port, first to IGN and now Kotaku. Square Enix has now issued a press release stating that the statement from last week was read as planned, and that the NX specific information was unintentional. Our press release contained the official statement that had been originally planned, and there is no reason to believe any changes were made mid-way to the content of the official announcement. The comment made during the event was not based on the official statement, so please allow us to correct our statement at this moment. We regret any confusion this may have caused. Square Enix told IGN that they were “considering” ports of Dragon Quest X and XI for NX while not officially denying the possibility. Dragon Quest XI will release in Japan for PS4 and 3DS in 2016, as two separate versions made for these platforms. No word has been given on a western release at this time, though Square Enix is considering that as well. Share this post: No related posts.
