Sonic Mania Delayed Until Summer, Project Sonic 2017 Now Titled

Two tidbits of Sonic the Hedgehog news came out of today’s “Gotta Go Fast” panel from South By Southwest. The franchise’s most immediate game release, Sonic Mania, has been delayed into the summer. To compensate, SEGA showed off about 30 seconds of the new Flying Battery Zone to be featured in Mania.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Sonic Generations sequel, Project Sonic 2017, now has an official title. It is henceforth Sonic Force. Its tech will be powered off of a new engine, Hedgehog 2.0. A 3D platfomer starring Modern and Classic Sonics, Sonic Force is still due out in the fall.

Both Sonic Mania and Sonic Force are coming to the same platforms, the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
