Smash Bros. Wii U Release Date Won’t be Revealed at the Nintendo Treehouse Stream

Smash Bros. Wii U Release Date

In an interview with Kotaku, a Nintendo of America representative stated that the Super Smash Bros. Wii U release date would be revealed during the upcoming Nintendo Treehouse stream on Friday. However, it turns out this information wasn’t true.

Kotaku later added a correction to the site saying that Nintendo only confirmed general Smash Bros. Wii U and not the official release date…although, it’s still a possibility.

A Nintendo rep contacted Kotaku to say that their people at the presentation only promised general Smash info during Friday’s livestream. We’ve checked with our source, who had mentioned the date detail but clarified that Nintendo promised that all our questions about Smash would be answered. In retrospect, it’s clear the date comment was a speculative interpretation. I apologize for the error.-Stephen Totilo of Kotaku
