HomeNewsShigeru Miyamoto Confirms Pikmin 4 In Development Alex Irish September 7, 2015 News In an interview with Eurogamer, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that a fourth Pikmin adventure is in development, and is “very close to completion”. “Pikmin teams are always working on the next one,” he added. In a follow-up, Nintendo issued a statement saying, “We can confirm that Pikmin 4 is in development but that is all we can confirm at present.” Neither Nintendo or Miyamoto could confirm if Pikmin 4 would release on the Wii U or the upcoming NX. 2013’s Pikmin 3 was released for Wii U after a nine-year hiatus for the series. In the time between, Miyamoto and the development team started work on Pikmin 3 for the original Wii, but moved work over to Wii U after seeing how hi-definition could benefit the gameplay. Pikmin 3 was intended as a launch window title for Wii U, but was delayed into July/August 2013. Interestingly, the interview is from July 20th, and the post was published today. This is part of a larger interview series that covers Pikmin, Super Mario Maker, and the future of Super Mario Galaxy. Share this post: No related posts.
