HomeGeneralSakamoto Talks About the Future of the Metroid Franchise Jelani Thompson April 15, 2014 General, News When Yoshi Sakamoto, a Game Designer famous for his work on the Metroid series was asked whether he planned to continue working on traditional franchises such as Metroid, his answer was short and sweet: “I do not intend to do so”. He later followed up by saying: “… This might be indirect, but if we can make new types of gamers enjoy video games for the first time through Tomodachi Life, then they might eventually become interested in the more conventional games. … I would like to challenge myself to do that.” Fans of the Metroid series have been quite patient over the past few years, waiting and waiting for a new game, but at the moment, it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing a new game anytime soon.
