RUMOR: Could a Smash Bros. Wii U Bundle Be Real?

In a few weeks time, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will push some hopeful converts into buying the Wii U console. Curiously missing so far is a proper hardware bundle. After all, if Mario Kart 8 was able to have a day-one hardware bundle as well, shouldn’t Super Smash Bros.? Last night, a couple of pieces of evidence were spotted online pointing the way to such a bundle happening soon.

As Amazon.co.uk put up a listing for a Wii U/Super Smash Bros. bundle, an image was spotted by Twitter user Shigeru News of a possible bundle. While it has since been proven fake on Reddit, the fake box art posits the bundle including a 32 gig Wii U, the game, the special Smash Bros.-branded GameCube controller, and the Wii U GameCube adapter. Such inclusions in a real Wii U bundle are not too far off the mark.

While the image is fake, the Amazon UK listing remains active, lending credence to a bundle incoming. Nothing from Nintendo has officially been announced, but would you like to see an actual Wii U Smash bundle?
