Is Black Ops 3 Coming to Wii U?

Activision has all but confirmed Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for this fall. A full reveal isn’t happening until May, but the game is all but a lock for Sony and Microsoft platforms (and PC). The series was absent on Wii U last year, with Activision citing poor sales. However, could BLOPS3 be making a comeback to the console? If the official website is to be believed, via reddit.

For reference, the official Call of Duty website looked like this last year:

And now, the official Black Ops 3 page has added the NNID account plug-in:

Nintendo and Activision have had a conflicted relationship with the Call of Duty series. It appeared on the original Wii a fair few times in non-HD versions of games like Modern Warfare 2 and World at War. On the Wii U, when Nintendo promised improved third party support early in its life, Black Ops 2 and Ghosts appeared, only to bomb at retail and force Activision to pull support for the series on Nintendo platforms.

It should be noted that BLOPS3 is being developed by Treyarch, who also developed both Wii U entries of Call of Duty. Time will tell if Activision pulls the Nintendo reference from the site, but we will continue to hope for the return of gaming’s most lucrative series on Wii U. Last year’s Advanced Warfare was rumored to appear on Wii U, only for Activision to confirm that wasn’t the case. Do you think Activision will bring Call of Duty back to Nintendo? Or is this too good to be true?
