Remaining Smash Bros. Amiibo Launch With Smash Wii U Switch Port

It sounds like the long-awaited remaining Smash Bros. amiibo are being delayed until 2017 for a Nintendo Switch port of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Laura Kate Dale of Let’s Play Video Games cites a pair of sources who say figures for Cloud and Bayonetta are being timed to the launch of such a port, which will also not be a launch day release next March.

As to the Switch port, there will be no additional DLC content, but it will contain all the previously released DLC for the Wii U version. Ergo, think of this release of Super Smash Bros. as a traditional Game of the Year edition adopted by other publishers, where a game is re-released with all its DLC intact.

No word on the status for the Corrin amiibo also yet to be released. The previously mentioned Bayonetta amiibo was teased by Platinum Games a short while ago as close to completion.

The Switch port of Super Smash Bros. will launch in the first six months, though it remains rumored and unannounced for now.
