HomeNewsNatsume’s CeeCee Explains the Reality of Virtual Console Aimee Marie April 24, 2015 News We all have our favorites when it comes to our old school Nintendo games. Rather you were a fan of it when it was first released or something that was later bestowed upon you. There’s at least one gem of a game that we can’t wait for to come to Virtual Console. But do you know the thought process towards picking one of these games? CeeCee, who is a community manager at Natsume Inc recently had a Q&A where one of the questioners asked about the porting process for Virtual Console games. Quite simply, both the publisher of the games in question and Nintendo discuss if the games would be a good fit the market and what i would hope “fit the audience”. “Once a title is agreed upon, Nintendo and the publisher work together to bring that title to the designated system, with Nintendo doing the bulk of the work…At this point, it’s unlikely we’ll see any other Natsume SNES games coming to the Virtual Console, as Nintendo’s interest has moved onto other classic systems.” So what does that mean for our favorite titles? In the end it really is up to Nintendo to decide if they are worth the effort in porting. You can bet that most of the big titles will make it so long as the publisher cooperates. There’s still a lot of big titles left in the vault, tho most likely waiting for the perfect time. I’m looking at you Pokémon Snap. Share this post: No related posts.
