Rabbids Invasion Book Series

Ubisoft and Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing are teaming up to bring the Rabbids wacky adventures to a full line of books based on the successful video game franchise and TV show Rabbids Invasion on Nickelodeon. The Rabbids’ wacky antics will be captured in hardcover, paperback, and e-books, in the US and Canada, hitting shelves in summer 2014.

“Working with a top children’s book publisher like Simon & Schuster Publishing expands the Rabbids brand even further,” said Tony Key, SVP of Sales and Marketing, Ubisoft. “We’re confident the Rabbids will continue to delight fans with each new brand extension, and the success we’ve had with the video games and TV show will be replicated with the books.”

Valerie Garfield, Vice President, Publisher of Novelty and Licensed Publishing at Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing comments that “Simon & Schuster is thrilled to add the Rabbids to our publishing portfolio. We feel that their hilarious antics will truly appeal to the 6-10 audience – and beyond – who appreciates this silly humor. They are a fresh and decidedly unique voice in licensed publishing.”

Simon Spotlight, an imprint of Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, will produce a wide variety of exciting chapter books, beginning reader books, joke books, and novelty books that will capture these furry fiends in print as they invade earth and cause chaos wherever they go.

Created in 2006, the wacky and mischievous Rabbids have become a global sensation with more than 14 million video games sold worldwide and hundreds of licensed products that feature the Rabbids characters. Viral videos starring the Rabbids have attracted more than 71 million views on YouTube™ video community. The Rabbids phenomenon currently extends across multiple genres including TV, parodies, videos, illustrations and consumer products.

In August 2013, the Rabbids debuted on Nickelodeon with a CG-animated series Rabbids Invasion and quickly became a hit. New episodes air Saturday mornings at 11:30 am (ET/PT); the 26 half-hour episodes follow the irreverent, unpredictable and silly creatures as they discover, explore and often wreak havoc. Ubisoft and Sony Pictures Entertainment recently announced that the studios are partnering to develop a full-length feature film based on the Rabbids.
