HomeNewsPokémon’s Future Teased With “Flowers” Alex Irish August 25, 2015 News The recent Pokémon World Championships had a small amount of news pertaining to the near future, including a Wii U port of Pokken Tournament. There’s much more to expect from Pokémon however, based on an interview with Nintendo World Report. The Pokémon Company International’s Director of Consumer Marketing J.C. Smith was asked to conjure up a word to describe the future of Pokémon, mentioning flowers and nothing more. Here’s the excerpt in question: NWR: And last but not least, can you just throw a cryptic word out there? Just anything. Something will get me to scratch my head. That, like, in eight months I’ll go, ‘That’s what he was talking about!’ JCS: “Flowers.” This one word can be interpreted broadly. There is a flower-like Pokémon Floette who has an alternate color scheme in the data of Pokémon X and Y, possibly pertaining to a future event. There is also the Pokémon Shaymin who is known for its Gracadea Flowers. Whether it’s a particular Pokémon event, or a new game entirely, the answer will come soon enough.
