Pokémon World Championships 2015 Detailed

The Pokémon Company International has confirmed the schedule for the upcoming World Championships to be held in Boston, MA. The festivities begin on Friday, August 21st. The finals conclude on August 23rd. Players from around the world will be battling for the chance to win more than $500,000 in scholarship money, with $10,000 going to each Video Game World Champion and each Trading Card Game Champion winning a total of $25,000.

Importantly, there will not be a last-chance qualifiers this year, as has been the case for the last few years, so only players who’ve already taken part in tournaments will participate. However, there will be a variety of side activities for those who aren’t invited by the Pokémon Play! Organization. What those are have not been detailed as of yet.

In addition, another performance of the Pokémon Symphonic Evolutions concert will take place on Saturday the 22nd.

Fans who attend will be able to download a Sharpedo, who comes with a Sharpedonite, has an Adamant nature, and the moves Aqua Jet, Crunch, Ice Fang, and Destiny Bond. Being able to Mega Evolve, it is only available to players of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

It all starts on August 21st at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in Boston. You can also catch live-streams of the events if you can’t attend.
