Notch Says That There Are No Current Plans For Minecraft On The Wii U

Minecraft

Current developer of Minecraft, Notch has stated on Twitter that he has no current plans to release Minecraft on the Wii U. This sucks because as mentioned millions of times, the Wii U’s gamepad would make a perfect match for this game.

Earlier in 2013, Notch explained that Microsoft previously had an exclusivity deal forMinecraft on consoles, and once that was up, the team was going to consider bringing the game to PlayStation. Even back then he said Wii U is “very unlikely.” -IGN

In a follow-up Tweet, Notch said that this isn’t because they hate Nintendo. They just have too much work on their hands over at Mojang:

“I agree a Wii U version would make sense, [by the way]. The only reason for no current plans is we’ve got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo.” -Notch

So I guess this means that Minecraft may be coming to Wii U in the future when they have less work on their hands! Do you think Minecraft will come to the Wii U in the future? Let me know in the comments!
