Nintendo Soundtrack News: Splatune in Japan, Earthbound Vinyl in North America

Two Nintendo-related music releases got announced today, one for Splatoon and one for Earthbound (aka Mother 2).

The former is a 61-track CD entitled Splatune, set for release in Japan this October. As detailed by Famitsu, it consists of two discs and 37 music tracks, 10 singles, and 14 sound effects-inspired tracks. Splatune will retail for ¥3200.

The latter marks the first official release of the Earthbound soundtrack outside of Japan. This vinyl disc comes courtesy of Ship to Shore PhonoCo. in cooperation with Sony Music Entertainment. The soundtrack’s press release details that” Each 2xLP is housed in an old style tip on gatefold jacket, and a traditional Japanese OBI strip”. The tracks span four sides and up to nine tracks maximum per side.

While Splatune releases in Japan this October, the Earthbound vinyl won’t launch in the States until early 2016. Pre-orders can be placed right now. To preview the LP’s track listing, check out the official SoundCloud.
