HomeNewsNintendo Lists Zelda Wii U Release Date as TBD Alex Irish May 7, 2015 News Buried in Nintendo’s fiscal report today was an updated slate of releases for Wii U and 3DS. While some are expected in the later part of 2015, like Star Fox and Shigeru Miyamoto’s Big Robot Project, one major release seems to have eluded us. Upon close inspection, The Legend of Zelda for Wii U was recently delayed out of 2015, but Nintendo has listed the game without a 2016 release date, instead listing it as ‘TBD’. This non-committal date could infer that the game’s development is more troubled than we thought, or it is Nintendo playing it safe with when the game comes out. Without Zelda in 2015, the Wii U has less of a chance to meet Nintendo’s annual projection of 3.4 million units. The Zelda delay was announced just before the end of Nintendo’s fiscal year 2015, ending March 2015. We have yet to learn if Nintendo plans to replace the gap left by Zelda with another heavy-hitter.
