HomeNewsNintendo Discontinues All Standard 3DS XL Colors in Japan Alex Irish December 1, 2014 News Ever since 2012, the Nintendo 3DS XL has provided portable players a great option for playing 3DS games against large screens and a larger form factor. Now, with the New 3DS XL on the block, the original XL’s time in the sun is fading. On the official Japanese website, Nintendo has posted a short notice above all of the standard 3DS XL colors, which suggests that production is to end shortly. This affects all of the above XL colors, along with the all-white model, which was available everywhere but in North America. Though they are being discontinued from manufacture, this is surely not going to affect repairs if anyone needs them. No word yet on whether this announcement affects North America, but since the New 3DS XL won’t arrive here until next year, it’s unlikely as of yet . What are your thoughts on this evident discontinuation of the 3DS XL in Japan?
