Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart 8’s Animal Crossing DLC Pack Hits April 23rd

Nintendo’s set to reignite Mario Kart 8 very soon. After previously announcing the second Mario Kart 8 DLC pack for May, Nintendo surprised everyone with an earlier release date: April 23rd. The Animal Crossing-flavored download includes three new racers, two new cups, and four new karts.

And for all hardcore racers, Nintendo is introducing a new, hardcore difficulty to Mario Kart 8: 200cc. This allows for blisteringly fast races like never seen in the series before (F-Zero notwithstanding). This update will go free on April 23, the same day the DLC goes out.

Finally, Nintendo is adding even more amiibo support to Mii Racers, updating with nine new skins. These include the likes of Bowser, Villager, Pac Man and Mega Man.
