Nintendo Cutting Price on Five 3DS Bestsellers

Been waiting to pick up some of the 3DS’ classic titles? The time has nigh! Nintendo has announced today that they are slashing the prices of five of their games, from their original price to just $29.99, starting on April 22nd. The games are:

  • Mario Kart 7
  • Super Mario 3D Land
  • New Super Mario Bros 2
  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

That’s right, all these titles will be $29.99 in the eShop AND in retail starting April 22nd!

This is a good strategy to get these great games in the hands of new 3DS owners. Nintendo’s marketing had this to say:

“In order, Mario Kart 7Super Mario 3D Land and New Super Mario Bros. 2 represent the top three best-selling Nintendo 3DS games of all time in the United States – each one has sold more than 2.15 million physical and digital units in the U.S. alone. All five of the newly discounted games star classic Nintendo characters and franchises, and their strong sales over time demonstrate the longevity of Nintendo’s games.”

Hopefully there will be more slashes to some of their other great 3DS games: Kid Icarus and Luigi’s Mansion come to mind. What 3DS  games do you think are ready for this kind of classic price slash?
