HomeNewsNintendo Confirms Crystal Red and Blue 2DS for North America Alex Irish November 11, 2014 News Last week, we got a waft that the Europe-announced clear red and blue 2DS units were coming to North America. Thanks to a Target flyer, it so far looked like only the blue system would be crossing the pond. Today, Nintendo announced that both clear colors would be joining the 2DS family. The newly christened Crystal Red and Crystal Blue 2DS’ will be available on November 21st at a lowered price of $99. Need you be reminded that November 21st is also the day that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire launch for the 3DS. Nintendo’s strategy is clearly aiming this system at new buyers of those remakes, just as the 2DS launched with Pokémon X and Y last year. But that Friday is also the day that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and the amiibo line of NFC toys launch. With two new system colors joining three Nintendo games and amiibo, November 21st promises to be the most-expensive day for Nintendo fans this year.
