A New Nintendo Direct Announcement Generates Untold Excitement and Speculation

When Nintendo announces a new Nintendo Direct, everyone gets excited. When they announced a new Direct last night for January 14th, on the heels on an inevitable hardware launch, the internet tends to explode. We know that this Direct will focus on the early releases of 2015, so that includes games like Code Name S.T.E.A.M., Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Majora’s Mask 3D, and potentially Yoshi’s Wolly World and Splatoon, but more surprises are likely (and expected) to happen.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse North American Release Date

Kirby is set for a February 13th release, while S.T.E.A.M. is destined for March, so more information on all these is appreciated. And with all the recent details dripping in on Majora’s Mask 3D and its revised Bomber Notebook and Feather Statues, we can finally see footage of these changes.

In addition, Xenoblade Chronicles X is a safe bet for new footage. Soraya Saga, the wife of director Tetsuya Takahashi, has continued her tradition of tweeting out whenever a Nintendo Direct is approaching, and every time she does, Xenoblade Chronicles X is involved. Hopefully, a release window will also be announced.

But by far the biggest announcement everyone wants to hear concerns the New Nintendo 3DS. North America and Europe have been patiently waiting for a release on this revised, super-powered handheld (and it’s XL variation). If nothing is mentioned about the New 3DS, much less a concrete release date, this Nintendo Direct will be mighty disappointing. Irregardless, a rumored release date for New 3DS stands as February 13th, so this has to be the time of announcement (and of reckoning).

Remember, this upcoming Nintendo Direct airs tomorrow at 9 AM EST (6 AM Pacific). What are you looking forward to in this Direct? What surprises do you want from Satoru Iwata & Friends?
