HomeNewsLevel 5 Confirms Yokai Watch Anime for West in 2015 Alex Irish December 21, 2014 News For the majority of 2014, Level-5’s Yokai Watch has dominated the headlines in Japan. The “catch ’em all” style 3DS franchise has exploded into other mediums, including a TV anime, merchandise, and an upcoming movie. Since it’s 2013 launch overseas however, the west has yet to know when the franchise will cross the sea to our shores. There’s been a trademark filed here and there, but nothing concrete has been announced. Level-5 president Akihiro Hino told Wedge Infinity, reported by Gematsu, that the Yokai Watch anime will head westward in 2015, with regions like America and Europe on the cards. While many of the very Japanese series’ characters names will change, some like Whisper and Jibanyan will remain the same. This bit of news follows up on trademarks filed in the west for Whisper, Jibanyan, and Yokai Watch outside of Japan. The question remains who would publish the Yokai Watch games in the west should they be brought over as well. Would you welcome the chance to hunt some ghosts in Yokai Watch?
