Introducing Alex Irish, Always Nintendo’s New Editor-in-Chief

If you’ve been on Always Nintendo recently, you may have come across this, or this, or what about this? I’m the writer of these pieces. Perhaps you enjoy them?

My journey to become a professional journalist in the games industry has been ongoing since 2012, when I finally logged into My IGN to blog. Since then, opportunities have opened up at multiple news sites, right up to and including Always Nintendo. I’ve been fortunate to site creator Jelani Thompson for having me on board for the last five months.

My focus has always been on news and editorial/commentary pieces. Now, I’m about to take on the monumental role of Editor-in-Chief for Always Nintendo. Writing for outlets like this one have taught me a great deal and improved my writing a metric ton. In a way, I’ve joined up with the enthusiast press, writing as a fan alongside other fans. And for the first time, I’ve been given a real leadership role on such a site.

In the past couple of weeks, I’ve been helping Jelani to run the site, and transition into the new role. I sure do feel the pressure, but am excited to try this high-end role and continue creating high content for the site. I will always remain a giant Nintendo fan, through and through. With fresh and veteran writers to work alongside, the possibilities are limitless. I hope you’ll enjoy what we have in store for you.

A man with a plan. My favorite video game franchise is Pokemon, but his favorite video game is Resident Evil 4. I can also tell you trivial cartoon factoids.
