GameStop Reveals Exclusive Zelda Monopoly Set

Not too long ago, a Zelda edition Monopoly game was set to be released sometime this year. As the release date (September 15th) is drawing nearer, GameStop released on their website, a special edition of the set, only to be sold at GameStop. This exclusive set will feature a special token, energy cards, and a lithograph, available only for players who purchase their set from their local GameStop or on the GameStop website.

The following will be included in the set:

  • 6 Collectible Tokens
    • Bow
    • Hookshot
    • Boomerang
    • Triforce
    • Hylian Shield
    • Ocarina of Time (Game Stop Exclusive token)
  • Houses renamed Deku Sprouts, Hotels renamed Deku Trees
  • Chance and Community Chest cards are renamed Empty Bottle and Treasure Chest
  • Custom Deed Cards
  • 6 Item Power Cards for added game play (Game Stop Exclusive)
    • Goddess Harp
    • Wind Walker
    • Minish Cap
    • Spirit Flute
    • Phantom Hourglass
    • Ocarina of Time
  • Zelda themed money
  • Custom rules including Item Card instructions
  • 11″x17″ Hyrule Map Lithograph in Treasure Chest Holder (Game Stop Exclusive)

Personally I think this set is pretty interesting. I am a huge fan of the Zelda series, and seeing it as a board game is a dream come true. I would definitely be interested in purchasing the GameStop exclusive version, since it adds Item Power Cards and the lithograph into the set. On top of that, it will be going for the same price as the standard version, 39.99 USD, making it a great value. The only downside is that in exchange for the Ocarina of Time token, the slingshot token will be replaced, but truly that is a small loss.

What do you guys think of this GameStop exclusive set, and are you interested in getting the game when it is finally released? Let us know in the comments below.

The set will be available for purchase starting September 15th.
