HomeNewsGameCube Controller Wii U Virtual Console Support Confirmed Jelani Thompson June 27, 2014 News With the announcement of the GameCube Adapter for the Wii U at this year’s E3, speculation arose on whether it would support Virtual Console titles. I have good news for those folks. Virtual Console support for the GameCube controller has been officially confirmed by the Big N. If you take a look at the Mario Party 2 reward page on Club Nintendo, you’ll see that the GameCube controller has been added to the list of possible control schemes. Take a look at the statement below: “Mario Party 2 requires the Classic Controller™ or a Nintendo GameCube™ controller (each sold separately). Additional accessories required for multiplayer mode.” Honestly, Nintendo should’ve clarified this at E3 seeing as that was one of the most hyped announcements. Only one question remains though: Does this mean that we’ll be seeing GameCube games in the Virtual Console? I’d love to know! You can let me know by leaving a comment below.
