Further Evidence of Shovel Knight’s Inclusion in Smash Bros. Unearthed

Shovel Knight Yacht Club Games

Shovel Knight may be headed to the Smash Bros. roster if new teases are to be believed. On the eve of PAX Prime, developer Yacht Club Games is promising a major announcement in relation to the upcoming Shovel Knight DLC Plague of Shadows.

We’ve heard the cries of bringing more exclusive content to Nintendo platforms. It might not be quite what you expect… but keep an eye out for another MEGATON announcement soon!

In the build-up to this announcement of an announcement, a Spanish retailer posted a listing for a Shovel Knight amiibo earlier. Yacht Club Games denied the listing, similar to an earlier denial of a physical release of Shovel Knight. The latter was officially announced a month later, leaving the status of an amiibo up to speculation.

If Shovel Knight were to be included in Smash Bros. as DLC, fans could vote for him via the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot, which closes voting in October. Meanwhile, Plague of Shadows will be shown off at PAX Prime including a live-stream with Nintendo’s Nindies@Night stream at 8 PM on August 27th.
