Flipnote 3D Arrives Amid High Club Nintendo Traffic

After an agonizing two year wait, North American Club Nintendo members can get their art on with the 3DS. After a slight delay, Flipnote 3D is now available to download, for free.

A follow up to Flipnote Studio on the DSi, the 3D iteration allows users to create animations and drawings with 3D layering. There’s also a suite of tools to enhance your animations. There is one catch: unlike in Japan, there is no option for online sharing in the western Flipnote 3D (so it goes for Europe, too). Your animations can only be shared locally, but you will have the option to download your saved DSi flipnotes from online.

This morning may be a difficult time to download the application, given the high traffic that Club Nintendo is besiege with, so if you’re unable to reach your code, try again later. Let us know if you had luck redeeming Flipnote 3D in the comments.
