HomeNewsFire Emblem Fates Tops Awakening’s Week One Sales in Japan Alex Irish July 1, 2015 News The latest Fire Emblem has just debuted in Japan to a tremendous response. According to Media Create, Fire Emblem Fates (subtitled “If” in Japan) launched at No. 01 on the charts with 303, 666 units sold across both versions. This is greater than the opening sales of 2012’s Fire Emblem Awakening, which released to 242,600 units sold. Fire Emblem Fates is unique for being split across two versions, Pokémon-style. These different versions contain a unique campaign, and a third playable campaign is available as DLC. Nintendo has confirmed this will carry over to the North American release when it launches in 2016. Nintendo originally planned for Fire Emblem Awakening to be the final entry in the series if sales were poor. The game has gone on to sell over 1 million units worldwide, making it the best-selling Fire Emblem to date. Share this post: No related posts.
