Cloud was previously announced in the November 12th Nintendo Direct, the first one since June’s Digital Event. In addition to Cloud, Nintendo is expected to announce the winner of the Smash Ballot in which fans could vote on which playable character they wanted to see in Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS.

The date for this upcoming broadcast was previously rumored by Tansut of Neogaf, although the proposed date was the 16th, where the real broadcast airs one day prior. This same use predicted Cloud would appear in Super Smash Bros.
