Famitsu Mascot Necky the Fox Coming to Super Mario Maker as 8-Bit Costume

Just as Super Mario Maker releases in Japan, Famitsu has announced that at least one piece of DLC. Famitsu mascot Necky (Nekki) the Fox will appear in the near-future as an 8-bit costume. Thanks to Kyle McLain on Twitter for relaying this news.

Necky the Fox was created by artist Susumu Matsushita. He is guaranteed to grace the covers of year-end issues of Famitsu in costumes related to popular game releases, including Nintendo titles like the New Super Mario Bros. 2 cover seen below.

It is uncomfirmed if this costume will be a one-off or the start of an elaborate DLC plan, nor if Necky will be released outside of Japan. Necky will be released for free for all Super Mario Maker users.
