Eiji Aonuma Wants Mario Kart 8’s Master Cycle in Upcoming Zelda Games

Master Bike DLC Mario Kart 8

The first batch of Mario Kart 8 DLC is arriving in November, and the fact that Link has been included as a playable character adds to the hype. To make it even better, the Master Cycle has been unveiled as a Kart, and it’s made such an impression that Eiji Aonuma himself would like to see it in future Zelda games. Yup, you read right.

“As you can see in this picture, the Master Cycle is designed after a horse, so it’s literally a horse of steel,” said Aonuma. “The development team showed me how the Master Cycle races on the track, and I was overwhelmed by how great it looked. (It looked so cool that I also want it to appear in games I work on.)”

Of course, this isn’t exactly confirmation that we’ll be seeing the game in future titles, but if the next Zelda is anything like I think it’ll be, fans of the Zelda franchise are in for an exciting ride.

I’m still praying for a Zelda: Steampunk Edition though…
