HomeNewsDragon Quest VIII Announced for 3DS Trace Wysaske May 13, 2015 News Welp, don’t hold your breath, but Square Enix recently announced that the PS2 classic Dragon Quest VIII is headed to Nintendo 3DS. In Japan, that is. A portable version of the game already exists in the west albeit on smartphones and was released last year. This 3DS version, however, seems to be a more robust experience with two new party members including a female thief named Garda and monster arena owner Morrie. The game will be completely voice-acted and feature newly orchestrated music, and on top of all that, StreetPass functionality to boot. Too cool. …But Dragon Quest VIII is only confirmed for Japan as it currently stands. Releasing on August 27th for 5,980 yen, Japanese 3DS owners could always import the title. *Sigh* Maybe we’ll hear some good news next month during Square Enix’s E3 2015 conference?
