Disney Infinity Producer on Amiibo Stock: Irresponsible and Rude

The amiibo stock situation has been well documented since its November 2014 launch. Many fans have noticed that these extreme problems don’t apply to amiibo’s competition, Disney Infinity and Skylanders. The former’s producer John Vignocchi spoke with Game Informer to discuss all things Disney Infinity 3.0, and had some choice words about Nintendo’s amiibo problem.

Hanson: Given the turbulent release of Amiibo characters, are you doing anything to prepare for the high demand for Star Wars figures?

Vignocchi: There is never an intention to create a shortage of any figures. It is irresponsible and rude to your hardcore fans. They don’t want to create frustration or the hunt. So they will be stocking the shelves well!

Nintendo has promised to remedy the amiibo stock situation in an elongated apology, and while Wave 4’s launch day went better than expected, things still look dire. It’s good to know ahead of time that fans won’t have to sweat blood and tears over NFC figures of Han Solo or Luke Skywalker this fall.
