HomeNewsCustom-made Amiibo Figures Could be on Their Way to Retailers Soon Maanav Goyal June 13, 2014 News Recently at E3, Nintendo unveiled their latest innovation, amiibo. amiibo is a figurine collection compatible with the Wii U and soon 3DS, that can work side by side with games. Figures based off of popular Nintendo franchises are already set for release soon, holding compatibility to the upcoming Super Smash Bros. game. In an interview with IGN, Miyamoto was questioned on some of the functionalities of the new project. When asked on the concept of creating custom made Mii amiibos, Miyamoto stated this; “We do have a number of employees internally who want to be able to do something like that, and we’re performing different experiments. So it’s too late for us to steal your idea (laughs). There’s different ways that we could do it and ordering could be one, or there’s different structures that we could use. In fact, there is already an amiibo of my Mii.” Amiibos are currently set to be retailed at 10 to 15 American dollars per figure. Creating a custom one would most likely range from 30 to 40 American dollars in relation to the $15 dollar price the pre-made ones are going for. Share this post: No related posts.
