HomeNewsCult Classics Monster Tale and Toki Tori Return for 3DS eShop Remasters Alex Irish March 30, 2015 News The 3DS is about to see a pair of cult classics in remastered form. 2011 saw the release of Monster Tale for the DS, a quality game that flew under the radar due to the launch of the 3DS, and Toki Tori originated as a 2001 Game Boy Color title launched mere months before the Game Boy Advance. These games, united by their poor initial sales, are about to get a new lease on life via the 3DS eShop. Developer DreamRift is bringing Monster Tale back in the form of Monster Tale Ultimate, as announced via the latest issue of NF Magazine. The game, due in a few months, will improve the experience with less backtracking, stereo-3D, and a re-orchestrated soundtrack in addition to the original DS soundtrack. In case you’ve never experienced Monster Tale before, here’s the trailer for the original game, which was published by Majesco: In this corner, Two Tribes Games announced on Twitter that they are re-releasing Toki Tori for the 3DS, in cooperation with studio Engine Software. This will doubtless be based on the existing remake of Toki Tori that’s been making the rounds for years. The Game Boy Color puzzler saw a 2008 remake for WiiWare, which in turn was brought to PC on Steam. That port was later released on the Wii U eShop, following a proper sequel in 2013. According to Two Tribes, progress on the port is going good, but no release window was announced. What do you think of these remasters coming to the 3DS? Will they be your first time with these respective games? Let us know in the comments.
