HomeNewsClub Nintendo Gets a Massive February Update Alex Irish February 2, 2015 News After the not-so-surprising news of Club Nintendo’s closure last month, Nintendo promised that the Club’s members would be given more options to redeem their coins with come February. On this, the Sabbath day of Groundhog Day, Nintendo of America makes good on their promise, as a bevy of new prizes and games are now live to give Club Nintendo one last hurrah. The amount of games is so great, in fact, that it’s impossible to list all 100+ games and the many new prizes here. So instead, we pay heed to the highlights and broad strokes of these prizes. Among the physical items on hand, North America surprisingly has the Club Nintendo calender to chose from, for it was a Japan-exclusive this past year. It’s a very Eastern design as well, which makes its presence here welcome. The popular 3DS Game Case returns for a 2015 edition, including a design that pays homage to the New Nintendo 3DS (yes, the small one we don’t get, rubbing more salt in the wound). We also see a new set of Smash Bros. posters, a new 3DS XL pouch themed on Zelda, and two Majora’s Mask 3D-related prizes. There’s a sleek-looking messenger bag, and a Fierce Deity Link puzzle set, both for a premium 800 Coins. As for the digital prizes, Nintendo gives us around 100 titles to use coins on. Judging by the list, ranging from Wii Virtual Console to Wii U eShop originals, these would appear to be every single game ever offered on Club Nintendo. Even still, there are some surprises. For one, Doc Louis’ Punch-Out!! is now available for 250 Coins. This WiiWare download was once a 2009 Platinum member exclusive, and has not been available until today for more people. More enticing than mere download games are the inclusion of full-on retail games. Select games from 3DS and Wii U are available for up to 700 Coins, and they are heavy-hitters to boot. Look for games like Super Mario 3D Land, The Wonderful 101, and Kid Icarus: Uprising among the releases. As for the Club Nintendo-exclusive Flipnote Studio 3D, Nintendo says that codes will be distributed later this week. For Flipnote Studio 3D, please check your To-Do list to receive your download code later this week. Remember, you have until March to earn more coins for these prizes, and until June to use said coins. When the calender turns to July, Club Nintendo will keel over and die. At least it is going out with a bang, with many excellent prizes to chose from. What prizes will you be redeeming? Share this post: No related posts.
