3DS Reviews: Mighty Gunvolt Review (3DS eShop)

8Classic
Monday, September 15, 2014
Some games were made to be given away and that's exactly how Mighty Gunvolt feels. Whether you buy Azure Striker Gunvolt or backed Mighty No.9, you get this nice little treat along as an added bonus, but that doesn't mean the game isn't good. Story: "The other time, the other place: Experiments on humans started by the massive media group...

3DS Reviews: Second Opinion: Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

Thursday, September 4, 2014
Some games are so good they deserve 2 reviews to make sure everything is covered. This review does not override our first one, but merely complements it. Concept After successfully entrusting Retro with Metroid, Nintendo decided to do the same with Donkey Kong Country. However, unlike the approach with Metroid to make it 3D, Retro decided to...

3DS Reviews: AquaMoto Racing 3D Review (3DS eShop)

Aqua Moto Racing 3D 3DS eShop review
7.5Fast Fun
Sunday, August 31, 2014
AquaMoto Racing 3D available on the 3DS eShop is a watercraft racing game. Like most racing games your goal is to pass the finish line in first place to get that gold medal all racers strive to earn. During your races, you’ll be performing stunts off of ramps and daringly passing buoys. You’ll find yourself competing in several tracks within...

Reviews: BlazBlue: Clone Phantasma (eShop Review)

7Feeling Blue
Friday, August 29, 2014
Blaz Blue: Clone Phantasma is a top down brawler style game available on the 3DS eShop.  To start off, the only similarity between this game and past BlazBlue games is the name and the characters.  If you were expecting this to be the classic 2D fighter then you will be sorely dissapointed.  Clone Phantasma is a sequel to a previous game in...

Reviews: Steel Empire Review (3DS eShop)

7Solid Steel
Tuesday, August 12, 2014
Steel Empire is a 2D bullet hell game for the 3DS eShop, the game has no physical release.  The game takes place in the late 19th century of a different world.  All of the ships in the game are very low-tech, including biplanes, zeppelins, and miscellaneous other planes.  The game has a very steam-punk aesthetic to it mostly because everything...

Reviews: Donkey Kong Country Returns Review (3DS)

8Bananas!
Tuesday, July 22, 2014
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3DS is a 2.5D puzzle platformer that is a decent challenge even on the easier setting.  This game is basically a port of the Wii version only adding in a few new levels and items, so if you've played the Wii version there isn't much extra here to constitute buying a full game unless you really want to play on the go....

News: Pokemon X Review (Nintendo 3DS)

9.2Gotta Catch This One!
Friday, July 11, 2014
It has certainly been a long time since I've played a Pokémon game. The last game I had was Blue and I enjoyed it. So this makes me a veteran but also a newbie. Part of that has something to do with why I decided to buy the latest game. I had the opportunity to pick Squirtle once again for a starter, a very tough decision. So how is this new...

Reviews: SteamWorld Dig and Why You Should Own It

steamworld dig 3ds review
8Digging it!
Tuesday, April 29, 2014
Allow me to begin by stating that as both a video game journalist and as a gamer, I hold indie titles with a different regard than those AAA titles released by large publishers and developers. To me, the indie game is a much more intimate creation. It is both advantageous and disadvantageous that a smaller group of people work on the game. On the...

3DS Reviews: Bit Boy!! Arcade (3DS eShop) Review

Bit Boy!! Arcade (Wii U eShop) Review
8Crazy and Fun!
Monday, April 28, 2014
I had a blast playing Bit Boy!! ARCADE. It's fun and colorful and just about everything you'd want from an indie eShop game. It's just charming and strange enough to make you want more... Gameplay lends itself to part puzzler, part action, part collect-a-thon. You're movement is limited to four directions using A, B, X, Y buttons, pressing...

News: Always Nintendo Review: Retro City Rampage DX

Sunday, February 9, 2014
I was so excited when I got the chance to review Retro City Rampage DX. I absolutely LOVE this game, but a lot of people had some reservations about a 3DS port. Be rest assured, DX is ( In this reviewer's eyes anyways) the definitive version of this game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ViS0t7PigQ The entire game has been reworked and...
